Frustrated by the lack of opportunity for ourselves to get our music 'out there' and heard by other people, I set up smallCogMUSIC as a means to do this.

Originally it was only for CDs recorded by Eddie Baird - (Ex Amazing Blondel and the only professional musician I knew!) as a means to get his solo work out to his fans across the world.

It was a chance meeting with Chris Cooper at a charity gig myself and Ed were playing at, and his wish to record his songs which were appearing at an alarming rate, that the idea came to widen the label to include other music and so the idea progressed from there.

Local artists, most of them friends and sometime band members kindly allowed us to place their albums on our site - some for sale, some just to listen to but all playing music we enjoy.

Not just albums!

Although initially we only specialised in making albums available to purchase, we are now showcasing 'one off' projects or singles, such as the 'Spaceman' Xmas song by Liam Perkins and Chris Cooper along with demos or previously unreleased tracks, as well as videos we have published to Youtube!

If we like it then we'll have it here!

We are proud to be able to present music from local artists whose work we admire and believe it should be heard by everyone.

2011 and beyond...

Last year we started and gradually added more artists. This year - a new website, albums on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon etc., news of live gigs, more radio appearances,Twitter feeds and hopefully much more!
