Due to public demand, Carillion have kindly agreed to let us include 3 tracks from their latest release ‘Dying to Fly’ on our jukebox.

Chris Cooper, whose 4 track album is available in our shop, is now working with us on a full length album. We have recorded 7 tracks so far with more on the way! We’ll let you know on progress and when it’s out!

With the kind permission of John Bundrick, we now have available 8 tracks from the 2009 collaboration between John ‘Rabbit’ Bundrick and Eddie Baird.

These 8 tracks were recorded as a joint effort, with Rabbit providing the music and Eddie writing the accompanying lyrics. Atmospheric soundscapes provided by the keyboard brilliance of Rabbit combine with smooth vocals and lush harmonies that we have come to expect from Eddie Baird. Styles vary from delicate ballads to heavy funk and more!

One of the tracks ‘Got it wrong’ is available to listen to on our Jukebox, and this album is available for £4.99 in our shop!

We are finally able to bring you the latest album from Carillion!

‘Dying to Fly’ contains 14 tracks mixing traditional tracks such as ‘The Holy Ground’ with more contemporary material such as Mary Chapin Carpenters ‘Come On, Come On’ and ‘The Dimming Of The Day’ by Richard Thompson.

This digital version comes with the booklet and CD artwork included as a PDF file.

Adding to our ever-growing list of songs to listen to for free are a couple of tunes on our Jukebox from Pierrot - the Isle of Axholme's premier Euro-ceilidh band, entertaining the lower Trent Valley and the wider world with a mix of driving English Ceilidh, Bal Français and Fest-Noz.

Pierrot plays rather more than the usual range of instruments, and this adds to the rich and varying sound. You will hear fiddle, mandolin, hurdy-gurdy, clarinet and bass clarinet, melodeon and guitar, English bagpipes, djembe and occasional harp, bombarde and concertina, with more besides...

We are pleased to announce that ‘Harbour’ by Chris Cooper is now available to purchase in our shop at the special price of £1.99!. This 4 track mini album was recorded over the last month and comes complete with a PDF booklet containing the CD Artwork and extra images. One of the tracks ‘Secret of Bliss’ is available to listen to on our jukebox.

Murphy’s Law, a Scunthorpe-based irish band who have been performing for over 15 years around Lincolnshire and Yorkshire recorded an album called ‘No More’ in 1995. This album has been unavailable for some time, but thanks to the band themselves, this album is now available to purchase as a download in our shop. Also included are 2 tracks recorded in 2002 and never before released!

We are currently setting up the shop but wanted to move the current eddiebaird.co.uk site and the ebbatsonbaird.co.uk sites here so we could update just the one and keep on top of it easier! So the shop is not quite ready.... We just have to finish getting the tracks uploaded along with the digital booklets and we’ll be ready! - Not long now!!

Welcome to smallCog music!

We have had requests recently for copies of various CD’s including ‘Abbey Cottage’ and ‘Bare Facts’ and although we would love to be able to supply them, we were unable to order quantities from our suppliers that were financially viable, and that would not involve a large amount of investment in stock. We have therefore decided to concentrate on digital downloads.

As well as eliminating the cost of pressing CD’s which we can therefore pass onto you, it also raises the exciting prospect of being able to release items which would not have otherwise been possible. We often have ‘odd’ tracks which for one reason or another - they don’t fit in with the other tracks, or they may be unreleased versions or demos of existing tracks, which we can now offer for sale!

This can also include other media which we did not have an outlet for, including videos made to accompany tracks.

Something else we have been looking at is the production of podcasts to promote new tracks or live ventures, so we are looking forward to lots happening in 2010!
